The Washington Cruisers refers to a squadron of 6 defense vessels appointed by George Washington in 1775, and later became the flag of the Massachusett's Navy in 1776. The Washington Cruiser flag was first in use by the first two ships of Washinton's fleet, the Lynch and the Franklin.
