Antiqued Betsy Ross Garden Flag
Details
A true embodiment of the spirit of freedom and independence, Betsy Ross flags hold a history as long as our nation.
One of the most famous flags in U.S. history, the Betsy Ross flag is said to have been sewn by the seamstress for George Washington in 1776. While there is little existing evidence to prove the legends that have grown up around this design, there is no question that it dates to the late 18th century and includes many elements that were common to the first American flags. The Betsy Ross flag includes 13 red and white stripes to represent the Colonies, and 13 five-pointed white stars on a blue canton, with the circle representing equality and eternity.
