War changes you. You may not have experienced war but know someone who has. Some veterans can come back and form a new life even though they are forever changed. For others, it is more difficult.

Nine Line Foundation’s construction of a Veterans Village in Savannah, GA, aims to help those veterans who have found returning from war an uphill battle. The Village’s 72 tiny homes will provide temporary housing to area homeless veterans while supporting them as they heal, rebuild their lives, and transition into a better home. The Veteran’s Village will provide more than just a roof over the heads of veterans. It will also provide the following services:

  • Several Community Centers
  • Self-Sustaining Hydroponics / Aquaponics Centers, in partnership with Georgia Southern University’s FORAM Sustainable Aquaponics Research Center, to train veterans on how to be self-sustaining through farming
  • Educational certification and the skills necessary to reintegrate into society
  • Food, clothing, and counseling provided by nonprofit organizations
  • A community of support to assist the veterans as they learn and grow as individuals

Nine Line Foundation was created to give back to veterans in need. This all-volunteer force advocates veteran issues and raises awareness to the needs of our severely wounded soldiers and veterans while greatly improving the quality of life of our wounded heroes.

"It's often said that it takes a village to raise a child. It truly takes the nation to help heal our wounded veterans, and undertaking this initiative is a step in the right direction,” said Megan Hostler, President and CEO of Nine Line Foundation. “Our homeless veterans have no support system, and we must address this issue not with a ‘hand out’ but with a ‘hand up’ before they totally lose hope and become one of the 22 veterans per day who commit suicide.”

Nine Line Foundation’s construction of a Veterans Village will provide housing and training to our veterans in most desperate need. There has been an outpouring of support from a variety of Americans including marathon runners, military-based motorcycle clubs, and individuals who have never thought about the plight of those returning from combat. People from all walks of life have pulled together to raise the funds necessary to significantly improve the quality of life of those wounded in defense of this country.

In the military, a Nine Line is a medevac request for an injured soldier on the battlefield. To soldiers, a Nine Line symbolizes patriotism, hope, and trust in one’s countrymen. We at Carrot-Top Industries want to help the soldiers and veterans who are homeless, injured, and struggling. After hearing about Nine Line Foundation’s mission, we wanted to be part of their team.

All of you may not have personally experienced war, but you can help those who have. Do your part today to help homeless veterans rebuild their lives during Military Appreciation Month. For the entire month of May, Carrot-Top Industries will donate 5% of all Military Product Sales, up to $10,000, to Nine Line Foundation’s Veterans Village. Your purchase will provide healing and support to those who gave so much to our country.

"As an all-volunteer, non-profit organization, Nine Line Foundation can only accomplish our mission through the generous support of wonderful people and businesses such as Carrot-Top Industries,” said Hostler.
