Who Can Fly the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flag?

The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flag honors the uniformed volunteer component of the U.S. Coast Guard that conducts safety patrols and aids in search and rescue missions on behalf of the U.S. Coast Guard.

Auxiliarists may fly the auxiliary ensign on their own vessels that have successfully completed a vessel safety check (VSC) and displays a current VSC decal. While underway, at least one Auxiliarist must be on board when flying the auxiliary ensign.

Retired members of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary may also fly this flag as well as facilities in public places representing the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Ensign may not be worn on a boat or public facility that has not been approved as a current facility by the organization.
